Here’s a great idea for 2009: high-tech trekking in the Vendée

Take your tots on a high-tech trek seeking out animal tracks through the forests of Vendée by hiring out a global positioning satellite (GPS) system and audio guide of the area.

The one or two-hour tours are a fun way for families to uncover the secrets of St. Jean-de-Monts and the surrounding area, including the Pays de Monts forest and famed salt marches.

A GPS can be hired from siblu’s Le Bois Masson holiday parc from as little as €6 for an afternoon, or €9 for the full day.

The mums are featured on the website of Netmums, with details of the outstanding work they do in their local community.

We started the search with Netmums as a way of celebrating mums, who we think don’t get their fair share of praise. After all, actors, sports stars, even politicians get their own awards, so why not something that celebrates the achievement of mums?
