Ferry travel can be a very cheap way of travelling (there are Dover to Calais routes bookable with siblu holidays that don’t cost anything) so its popularity is riding high at the moment and the industry is planning to invest £1bn in new services and ships in the next few months.

If you haven’t travelled by ferry since your school days, I can certainly recommend checking out many of the new-style ships that are great quality and packed with facilities – it’s certainly much more fun for families than the stark no-frills service of certain airlines.
