Kids are not interested in trapsing around expensive tourist attractions, all they want is to roam free in the sun. Give them a bike and you can have a (cheap) glass of wine by the pool or on your mobile home terrace. If you choose to camp in the UK then you're more likely to spend more on entertainment if the wheather is bad, which let's face it is highly likely! Who needs to spend a fortune when you have the fresh air, sun and a swimming pool on your door step? The French sites are much less 'commercial' in that you don't have to fork out money for amusements every step of the way, plus in france you tend to have a lovely outdoor garden area, complete with dining table, chairs and a BBQ. The kids loved the kids clubs and the pool areas - they were out and about in the fresh air, makes so much difference from being at home. We used to save a fortune by having a BBQ rather than having to eat out in a restaurant. Plus my hubby actually wanted to cook! (What is it with men and fire?)
