Brittany Ferries has launched a speedy new crossing from Portsmouth to Le Havre that will give another great option to customers heading over to our holiday villages in Normandy and the Loire Valley.
The fast-crossing takes just 3hrs 45mins, with customer leaving Portsmouth at 0700 and arriving in Le Havre at 1145 local time – a great opportunity for you to wander into the centre of Le Havre and immediately set about enjoying a French lunch!
With a crossing time of less than four hours, the Portsmouth to Le Havre route is more than two hours shorter than the Portsmouth route to Caen (six hours), and Le Havre is more easterly than Cherbourg, which has its own fast craft route.
The new service runs for four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday.
UNESCO-listed Le Havre is an intriguing destination in its own right. Attractions include a two kilometre beach right in the town centre, a host of museums (including the biggest collection of impressionist art outside Paris), several shopping centres and a wide range of good restaurants.
