If you are ready to book travel too, Brittany Ferries have announced their sailing schedule for 2014.

Travel to France highlights include:

Portsmouth–Le Havre: the returns in 2014 with high-speed crossings (just 3.45 hours) every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 22nd May to 7th September.

Portsmouth–Caen: Brittany Ferries is increasing the number of sailings on this popular route and will now offer three sailings a day in each direction on most days of the week. The company expects 2014 to be a busy year for the route, with the 70th anniversary commemorations of the D-Day landings as well as the 2014 World Equestrian Games which will take place in August.

Portsmouth–Cherbourg: the seasonal service offers the speediest crossing to France on the Western Channel (3 hours). The Normandie Express fastcraft which operates the route will be fitted with a new premium seating area in, allowing customers to enjoy an even more luxurious travel experience.

Poole–Cherbourg: the popular Barfleur cruise ferry connects the Dorset port of Poole with Cherbourg on the tip of the Cotentin peninsula, where there are fast-flowing road connections to the French motorway network thanks to a newly-completed dual carriageway which links the N13 and A84.

These routes can all be booked for a £25 deposit, with the balance not having to be paid until 46 days before departure.
